Hey Reader! Are you excited by this title? Cause I know I am!! If you have a relationship with overwhelm, you typically fall into two categories. You either constantly feel on the edge of burnout, with a few breaks in between, or you constantly feel stuck, with little to no progress on the things you say you want to start doing. The key word here is "constantly" or "continuously", which means that these feelings of burnout or stagnancy are as regular as brushing your teeth. If you are in either category, you likely don't understand what drives your burnout or stagnancy. All you can identify is that you are too overwhelmed to stop or start. It's an endless cycle. For me, feelings of overwhelm would keep me from visioning, taking chances, and going after things that REALLY excited me. It was debilitating. For some of my clients, overwhelm would keep them from saying no to adding another meeting to their busy calendar, disagreeing with terms that did not align with them, and prioritizing time with their loved ones. For all of us, the cycle started to stop when we decided to look under the umbrella of "overwhelm." You see Reader, the word overwhelm is supposed to be a sign for us to go deeper into what is taking place. Instead, we use it as a blanket term to understand what we are physiologically experiencing while we get through it. Using it as a blanket term is damaging because you are not putting the effort to change whatever underlying beliefs are taking place and find yourself with the same feelings of overwhelm over and over again. I want to be an aid for you to get out of the cycle and have an exciting opportunity for YOU ( point down) Join me at my Break Free From Overwhelm WORKSHOP on Wednesday, June 12 at 7 pm EST. How's the second half of your year starting, Reader? I hope it's been full of pleasant surprises and growth! For me, it's been one month since leaving corporate and starting new ventures with coaching and freelance work. It has been a very humbling experience to witness how attached I was to the steady pay that came every two weeks. The discomfort has triggered old patterns of emotional avoidance. In the past, I would indulge in mind-altering substances, like alcohol, to ease the discomfort....
Reader, Perhaps you are in a place where you realize no matter how much you add to your skills, titles, bank, closet, etc. You are still experiencing a void. You are having a hard time connecting with your loved ones because you cannot even connect to yourself. You look around at your connections, both professionally and personally, and see that there is an emptiness that you experience with them. You take a look at your career or job and realize that there is a level of comfort it gives you...
Happy Day Reader!! Have you ever thought of why dreams can both mean a life desire or an experience you have in your non-wake state? My spiritual teacher, Dr. Lovy L. Elias, had a school on dreams that I got the privilege to attend virtually. I came to learn that most of our dreams are God speaking. At a macro level- you know that dream that you had out of nowhere when you were younger? Well the purpose God created you for is reflected in it! It may look different through time, for example a...
