Could Your Lack of Awareness be The Problem?

Hi Reader! I have a question for you,

Are you stuck in the motions of life? Your roles were something that once got you so excited, but suddenly they are feeling more defined as a circumstance than an actual purpose? I get it!

In my last email I mentioned how the more clarity we have in our intentions the more direction and aliveness we have.

For some of us, we may just have to go back to the WHY that led us to the roles we hold now. For others we may have to go forward and take action on that idea that will just not leave us alone. Nonetheless, it begins with what is the intention behind it, it begins with inquiry.

What is inquiry? It is what opens a box of possibilities. It requires radical honesty and a humbled heart so that through it we are empowered by a deeper level of understanding of our intentions. With inquiry we begin to see how things really are, and begin to find hope in how they could be. You begin to develop a level of integration within yourself to a point that, how others perceive you in your roles, no longer holds weight like it did before. Instead you begin to clarify and prioritize your intentions based on who you are called to be in this very season.

Just this alone can completely change the way you manage your personal and professional life, without anything in your outside world changing. You may realize that you don’t have to leave that office job to experience something higher or need to chase vacations to escape from the demands of the world. You may just find out that everything you were running away from is actually something you carry with you…

This makes me think of one of my earliest clients, let’s call him Joseph. Joseph was in investments, until he burned out from the demands of this industry. He uprooted his city life and moved to a small town in another state. In our work together, Joseph realized that many of the concepts he left the city for were still ones that were bringing pressure, even though he was no longer in the city environment. We came to discover that while the city life did reinforce the patterns of having to chase things for a sense of feeling completion, it was more of a program ingrained in him.

This program is what led him to burn out, it was less to do with the jobs as it was to do with the way he was unconsciously operating. We broke down the pillars of this unsustainable program and began to set a new foundation of how he intended to begin to perceive life.

  • The illusion of “If I create the timeline I will have peace” shifted to “peace has no timeline”.
  • The illusion that “If I suppress my emotions I will feel safe” to “If I embrace my emotions I will get unstuck”.
  • The illusion that “freedom is when I have checked all the marks” shifted to “freedom is a state of mind”.
  • The illusion that “success is when I meet that finish line” shifted to “success is recognizing the finish lines I have already crossed”

You may be reading this, and think “I knew that”. While we may “know” things, we may not understand them or act on them. I am not here to feed philosophy, I am here to inspire action, but first we have to tend the soil. This is done with inquiry work, this is the toe in the water when it comes to the inside out work. Then, it is up to you how deep you go. For those who just want to get their feet in the water…

I have a really exciting opportunity coming soon, one that I have crafted for you to get that toe in the water experience in your personal transformation as a leader/entrepreneur. A right beneath the surface layer of the iceberg of transformation type of opportunity. It will provide depth in insight and application, but not going too deep. If you have worked with me in the past, felt a call to this journey, but couldn’t commit to the time commitment of my packages…this one is specially for YOU. More on this coming soon!

How's the second half of your year starting, Reader? I hope it's been full of pleasant surprises and growth! For me, it's been one month since leaving corporate and starting new ventures with coaching and freelance work. It has been a very humbling experience to witness how attached I was to the steady pay that came every two weeks. The discomfort has triggered old patterns of emotional avoidance. In the past, I would indulge in mind-altering substances, like alcohol, to ease the discomfort....

Hey Reader! Are you excited by this title? Cause I know I am!! If you have a relationship with overwhelm, you typically fall into two categories. You either constantly feel on the edge of burnout, with a few breaks in between, or you constantly feel stuck, with little to no progress on the things you say you want to start doing. The key word here is "constantly" or "continuously", which means that these feelings of burnout or stagnancy are as regular as brushing your teeth. If you are in...

Reader, Perhaps you are in a place where you realize no matter how much you add to your skills, titles, bank, closet, etc. You are still experiencing a void. You are having a hard time connecting with your loved ones because you cannot even connect to yourself. You look around at your connections, both professionally and personally, and see that there is an emptiness that you experience with them. You take a look at your career or job and realize that there is a level of comfort it gives you...
